Who can consign a watch?
We only consign watches from individuals who either own the watch or have the legal authority to sell it on the owner’s behalf. To complete a sale, you must provide valid identification and sign a consignment agreement. As required by law, we keep detailed records of all transactions, including a description of the item, the consignment terms, and the agreed sale price. If we identify any watch as stolen or counterfeit, we are obligated to report it to the proper authorities.
Consignment Policy
1. Consignment Fee Structure
Our consignment arrangement involves a minimum fee of $1,000 or 10% of the sale price of each item, whichever is higher. This fee applies up to a maximum total consignment value of $5,000. The consignment fee is calculated based on the final sale price of each item at the time of sale.
2. Item Eligibility
Only watches that meet our quality standards and a minimum estimated sale value of $10,000 are eligible for consignment. Each piece will undergo a thorough evaluation by our expert team to ensure authenticity, functionality, and overall condition before being accepted for consignment.
3. Consignment Period
Items are consigned for an initial period of 90 days. If the item has not sold within this period, the consignor has the option to extend the consignment period, adjust the pricing, or retrieve the item. Notification will be provided 7 days before the end of each consignment period to discuss possible options.
4. Pricing and Sale
Pricing of consigned items will be determined collaboratively between our team and the consignor, based on current market conditions, the item’s condition, and comparable sales. We reserve the right to adjust the price by up to 10% to facilitate a sale, unless otherwise specified by the consignor.
5. Payment and Settlement
Upon the sale of a consigned item, payment will be issued to the consignor within 7 days of the sale date. All payments will be made through a secure method agreed upon at the start of the consignment agreement. The consignment fee will be deducted from the sale proceeds before the payment is made to the consignor.
6. Insurance and Liability
All consigned items are fully insured while in our possession against theft, loss, or damage. The consignment value used for insurance purposes will be the agreed-upon estimated sale price minus the consignment fee.
7. Consignor Responsibilities
The consignor is responsible for providing all necessary documentation and accessories that may affect the value of the consigned item, such as original boxes, papers, and service records. It is also the consignor’s responsibility to ensure that the item is authentic and free from any legal disputes.
8. Agreement Termination
Either party may terminate the consignment agreement with written notice 30 days in advance. Upon termination, all unsold items must be collected by the consignor within 15 days unless other arrangements have been made.
