The 37mm white gold case is immaculate, with every facet of its cold-rolled coin-edge flanks and welded lugs appearing flawlessly finished under close inspection. Its polished surfaces and crisp lines reflect light with a mirror-like sheen, while the subtle satin-finished accents highlight the impeccable workmanship that characterises this model. On the dial side, the open-worked aesthetic is perfectly preserved, showcasing frosted bridges and polished edges without any signs of wear. Roman numerals are crisply rendered, with no fading or imperfections to detract from their readability. Together, these elements create a timepiece that is visually striking in a state that is in mint condition.

Why we love this watch

Founded in 1775 by Abraham-Louis Breguet, the Breguet brand has stood at the forefront of watchmaking innovation for centuries. In his Paris workshop, Breguet pioneered pivotal breakthroughs, including the tourbillon in 1801 and the pare-chute shock protection system in 1790. His timepieces were coveted by European royalty, among them Marie Antoinette and Napoleon Bonaparte, solidifying his reputation as one of history’s most influential watchmakers. From its earliest days, the Breguet name has been synonymous with technical ingenuity, refined aesthetics, and uncompromising quality.

The Breguet Tradition 7027 embodies this enduring legacy, drawing inspiration from the elegant watches of the late 18th century while adhering to modern principles of reliability, simplicity, and engineering excellence. Introduced in 2005, the 7027BB model features a 37mm white gold case measuring 11.9mm thick and spanning 45.4mm from lug to lug. A broader bezel and straight lugs lend it a more substantial wrist presence than the measurements suggest. Hand-finished coin-edge detailing and welded lugs pay homage to the haute horlogerie traditions established during Breguet’s formative years.

Powering the watch is a manually wound, in-house movement beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, equipped with Breguet’s signature pare-chute shock protection—an invention far ahead of its time. A power reserve indicator sits on the dial side, displaying frosted bridges, satin-finished wheels, and black-polished accents, all reflecting the meticulous craftsmanship for which the brand is renowned. The solid gold dial, adorned with rose-engine guilloche work, Roman numerals, and the unmistakable Breguet hands, unites mechanical sophistication with graceful design.

This particular 7027BB is accompanied by a luxurious polished wooden presentation box, as well as a warranty booklet and instruction manual. Beyond its physical allure, the watch bridges past and present: its open construction and timeless styling capture the spirit that has defined Breguet for nearly 250 years. By honoring the legacy of its founder, the Tradition 7027 reaffirms the brand’s commitment to horological excellence and commemorates Abraham-Louis Breguet’s transformative role in watchmaking.

It is not only one of the most beautiful watches we have seen at Crown Vintage, but also a masterpiece that upholds a storied tradition of innovation and artistry.
